Senior Patrol Officer Patricia Powell serves at the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) Liaison for the Atlanta Police Department.

Powell joined the Atlanta Police Department more than 11 years ago, moving from her hometown of Evanston, Illinois to pursue a career in law enforcement with the Atlanta Police Department.

Powell assumed the GBLT Liaison position after working in various units within the Department. Powell has served as an officer in Zones 1 and 3, the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and worked in The Atlanta Police Training Academy as a Trainer, and in the Recruitment Unit.

Her experiences with the Atlanta Police Department and her commitment to serve the community make her a natural fit at the GLBT Liaison. Officer Powell served in the United States Army for three years and the National Guard for six years. Powell received her Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University.
